Stamford Heavenly Chocolates, which sells choclates and hosts chocolate-making workshops and parties, has just moved to new and larger premises at Sacrewell Farm at Thornhaugh after four years trading from London Road, in Stamford.

The shop opened at its new premises yesterday and saw its first day revenue double the figure that managers had expected and in addition also took a number of workshop bookings for private chocolate-making parties.

Its new success is a welcome boost for the business which had seen its visitor numbers tumble and its fully-booked workshops season blighted by cancellations as the coronavirus scare took hold.

But the innovative retailer, which has seven staff, came through the pandemic after devising new ways to take its business to its customers.

Its move to Sacrewell has been prompted by the need for more space with the new premises providing a new shop, workshop area and visitor chocolate making viewing area.

The premises are based in an area of Sacrewell Farm’s Courtyard and the business is set to be joined by more artisan businesses in the next few months.

Plans for the relocation were in place before the Covid lockdown following a number of seasonal workshops jointly with Sacrewell last year but had to be paused until retailers were give the go ahead to re-open.

Barbara Farrow, owner of Stamford Heavenly Chocolates, said: “This is such an exciting time for our business.

“We absolutely love what we do and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our customers.

She added: “It’s wonderful to be part of a large visitor attraction and one that is primarily focused at families.

“We welcome all to our shop and workshops from children’s parties to adult workshops, and Sacrewell lends itself as an educational as well as fun visitor attraction, which fits well with us being here.”
