Expecting to celebrate their wedding on their 10 year anniversary, the teenage sweethearts should have celebrated their love at Holmewood Hall, Holme. Instead, due to lockdown, the pair were settling in to drink champagne and enjoy a day at home when they were surprised as their bridal party had taken over their street.

Their loved ones had turned up with a special video filled with messages of love from dozens of wedding guests for the couple to watch. Lining the road, from a distance, Alex and Jess watched the video as tears and laughter flowed. The group raised a glass of champagne together, with even the neighbours joining in to toast the happy couple.

Jessica said: “To say I’m overwhelmed is an understatement, we had no idea this was being planned at all. So a huge credit to one of my best friends Kimberly Goode who organised the whole thing. Our parents, bridesmaids and best friends came. We’ve had deliveries all day of gifts and presents and honestly have never felt so loved.”

The couple who met through family friends, are set to get married on October 1, which is Alex’s birthday.
