Yellow weather warnings are currently in place for snow and ice in the city for the remainder of the day and tomorrow morning.

The council's emergency provision for homeless residents and rough sleepers has come into force, meaning there are beds for people who need them, so they can escape the winter weather.

A spokesperson for Peterborough City Council said: "We continue to offer anyone found to be rough sleeping accommodation and our outreach teams are out regularly identifying anyone new to the streets.

"We have been out this morning and have made offers for the small number of individuals who have not yet come into accommodation and will continue to operate this model through the winter months.

"If you know of someone rough sleeping please let us know by completing our online referral form: Rough sleeper referral (peterborough.gov.uk)"
