Socially distant firework display lights up Peterborough skies

A spectacular firework display lit up the sky as Peterborough joined the rest of England by going into the second national lockdown.

The sell out display with a difference at the East of England Showground was due to be held later this week, but was moved forward because of the new COVID restrictions.

But the change in plans didn’t put people off as families poured into the arena for the drive in display.

There were strict rules in place to keep people COVID safe - but that didn’t stop the ‘oohs’ and aaahs’ ringing out throughout the night.

Collections were also held to raise money for Sue Ryder’s Thorpe Hall Hospice.
