Shops in Peterborough’s Queensgate rally round as lockdown closure is lifted
Twenty-eight stores in the Queensgate shopping centre re-opened along with another eight stores in the adjoining Westgate Arcade.
Shoppers are reported to have queued for about an hour-and-a-half to get into clothing store Primark, located within the centre.

Equally important to many people, the Queensgate toilets were also opened to shoppers.
But customers cannot have failed to have been aware of the far reaching changes made by Queensgate managers in an effort to ensure the retail experience was a safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.
Queensgate staff have been wearing gloves and face masks and the centre now features about 3,000 social distancing signs, direction signs and hand sanitiser stations.
