Seven more patients with coronavirus die in Peterborough

Seven more patients with coronavirus have died at Peterborough City Hospital, it has been announced.

The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust said 21 patients had now died at Peterborough City Hospital, and a further 13 at Hincgingbrooke Hospital since March 24.

Yesterday the figure stood at 14 patients at Peterborough City Hospital, and nine at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“I can confirm that sadly, a total of 34 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 13 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 21 at Peterborough City Hospital. Patients were aged 30 to 90 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for COVID-19.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”

According to Public Health England, the number of confirmed cases in Peterborough has stayed at 62.
