Reward for being a ‘best kept village’

Winners of South Kesteven District Council’s 2019 Best Kept Village competition have received certificates to reward their hard work.

Deeping St James took top honours in the competition organised jointly between SKDC and the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE), running in parallel to the county village awards.

SKDC chairman Cllr Jacky Smith presented certificates after Cllr Dr Peter Moseley, Cabinet member for Commercial and Operations announced the winners at a council meeting.

“We are here to celebrate the efforts our villages have put in to keep them looking terrific for their residents and visitors,” said Cllr Dr Moseley. “It’s a great legacy of the Big Clean and we are working hard to ensure that the competition continues.”
