Retailer Frasers steps up staff recruitment for store in Peterborough's Queensgate Shopping Centre
Retail giant Frasers is stepping up its recruitment campaign to hire store assistants for its new store that is expected to open in Peterborough ahead of Christmas.
The retailer is seeking to hire an unspecified number of shop assistants for its stores that are currently being fitted out in the Queensgate Shopping Centre.
Frasers and its brands Sports Direct and Flannels will occupy the space across four floors previously leased by department chain John Lewis and are expected to open next month.
Adverts placed by Frasers show it is seeking to recruit a number of part-time sales assistants

Its adverts on the recruitment website Indeed state: “This is a zero-hour contract.
"Hours may vary weekly depending on business needs and there may be periods where no shifts are available.
And it warns: “Due to high interest in these roles, we may close the vacancy early. To avoid missing out, we recommend submitting your application as soon as possible.”
The retailer is offering wages of £13.50 per hour for its part-time staff at Sports Direct and Frasers.

Its recruitment advert also outlines its expectations of its workforce.
It states: “As a Sales Advisor, you’ll be the face of Frasers, delivering exceptional service and creating personalised shopping experiences that inspire customer loyalty.
"With a genuine passion for retail and a customer-first mindset, you’ll help shape a luxurious and welcoming store environment, while also supporting store operations when required.”
Three months ago, Frasers teamed up with Peterborough Jobcentre to help recruit staff for its Queensgate stores.
Frasers has not said how many jobs it is creating but it is known that when John Lewis closed in 2021 it had 318 staff at Queensgate.
Frasers began recruiting in Peterborough last December when an array of hoardings appeared in the Queensgate centre urging people to join its team.
Frasers has been approached for a response.
