Pupils share their love of reading

Pupils at Lime Academy Abbotsmede moved away from mass-produced costumes and got back to old-fashioned play and values for World Book day.

Children were given a plain white T-shirt to decorate themselves during the week. Many based their design around their class book, whilst others thought about what reading meant to them.

Other activities during the week involved listening to stories from other cultures, reading Shakespeare and planning a design for the book bench that will be on display during the summer months as part of the Peterborough City Council’s Book Bench Trail.

The whole school gathered on the school field at the end of the day to share their artwork and everyone agreed they had had a fantastic day!
