Plans to convert Peterborough electrical shop into flats submitted; apartments plan in Cowgate

Plans have been submitted to convert a small electrical shop, garden and dwelling into a block of flats.

The application is for 16-18 Whitsted Street, Eastfield, with all nine flats having one bedroom.

A planning statement submitted to the city council reads: “The proposal should be seen as the best use of the site as directed by national government and we believe is sympathetic to its surrounding neighbours.”

The application has been revised from a previous one which put forward 11 units.

Off street parking would be provided for each flat, it is added.

Meanwhile, a planning application has also been submitted to convert office space on the first and second floors at 4-6 Cowgate into six residential apartments.
