Plans for 'high quality' hotel in Peterborough city centre submitted

Signature Suites, which already has premises in Broadway and Lincoln Road, wants to convert a Grade II listed building at 16 Priestgate into 10 en-suite bedrooms.

The building is currently vacant but was previously used for retail and office purposes.

Signature Suites states on its website that it prides itself on "creating a luxurious experience for travellers through our award-winning customer service and unique design decor".

It added: "Signature Suites aparthotels were set up to create something different in Peterborough, something that stands out in this crowded marketplace. Our vision was to create luxurious experiences for weary travellers."

It said in its planning application to the council that the plans, if approved, would have a "positive impact" on the area, and that the scheme would not require any alterations to the building.
