The application from property developers Formation Developments - which has a registered office in Lynch Wood - is for Glebe Farm near Peterborough Road in Stanground, close to Stanground Academy, and will see the existing farmhouse demolished.

Planning permission was previously granted back in September 2016 but had elapsed due to drainage issues. However, Formation Developments said the problem has now been resolved.

The latest application stated: “The proposal will provide for high quality, visually appealing, living both within and outside the dwelling and this will be capable of meeting lifetime homes standards.”

The dwellings will be a mix of semi-detached, terraced and detached units including two, three and four bedroom homes.

The application stated that the site has already been allocated for 12 homes in Peterborough’s Local Plan, which sets out future development in the city.

It added: “Glebe Farm House was a modern farmhouse with little to commend it in visual terms and will be demolished as part of the development. In recent years it has been the subject of vandalism and arson.”
