Peterborough’s Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice to re-open to new admissions

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice will re-open for new admissions tomorrow, after it was closed for a number of weeks due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The hospice was closed to new inpatients at the end of April following the outbreak.

Today a spokesman for Sue Ryder, the charity which runs the hospice, said: “As you are aware, the inpatient unit at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice has been temporarily closed to new admissions.

“After careful and thorough assessment in partnership with Public Health England, the inpatient unit will re-open to new admissions from Wednesday 20th May 2020.

“We will be continuing to enforce all necessary infection control measures and we would like to thank you all for your understanding and support over the last few weeks.”

Sue Ryder is still running an emergency appeal to raise funds to keep their hospices open, after a downturn in income due to the coronavirus crisis.
