Peterborough’s Aston Merrygold and JLS bandmates re-form group for national tour after seven year break

Peterborough singing star Aston Merrygold will be back on stage with his JLS bandmates - as the pop group announced their re-union.

The group - made up of former Jack Hunt School pupil Aston, Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes and JB Gill, shot to fame on The X-Factor in 2008, and scored five number one singles before splitting in 2013.

JLS performed a huge concert in Peterborough for Aston’s home coming gig, playing hits including ‘Everybody in Love’ and ‘Beat Again,’ with 18,000 people turning up on the Embankment.

Aston went on to launch a solo career, and also appeared on reality TV shows including Strictly Come Dancing, while other bandmates have also had success as TV presenters.

Last night, the band announced on social media that they would be re-forming with a nationwide tour starting in November.
