Peterborough STEM Festival put back to next year

Organisers have taken the decision to put the show, planned for October, back to 2021 because of the uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The volunteer-run free event, which has gone from strength to strength over the last four years, promotes interest in science, technology and maths to children to find the next generation of innovators.

Last year the KingsGate Centre at Parnwell was transformed with coding workshops, virtual reality, simulators, dancing robots, huge engines, rocket making, bridges you could walk across, bridges you could build and more including guest speakers.

The volunteer organisers were winners at the Peterborough Telegraph Pride in Peterborough Awards in December.

Organiser Jonathan Frascella said: “Peterborough STEM Festival has been a highlight of our calendar for the past five years, holding our biggest event to date last year, so the whole team is incredibly disappointed to postpone 2020.

“We are looking at other ways of making STEM content accessible and look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.”
