Peterborough star Louis Smith looks set for third Olympic final


Louis, from Eye, is one of the favourites for pommel horse gold after winning silver in last year’s world championships. He scored 15.700 in qualifying this afternoon, and looked very impressive.
His main rival is likely to be fellow British star Max Whitlock, who claimed gold in last years world championships. Max scored 15.800

Hide AdLouis is also likely to compete in the men’s team final on Monday night with his British team mates, before the individual final next Sunday.
The former Strictly Come Dancing winner already has three Olympic medals - a bronze medal from Beijing, won in the pommel horse final, and a bronze and a silver from London - won in the team final and the pommel horse respectively.
In Beijing he was the first British male to win a gymnastic Olympics medal since 1908. He has also won a number of world, European and Commonwealth medals in the last nine years.
