Peterborough remembers the fallen on Armistice Day

Peterborough fell silent to remember the fallen on Armistice Day.

Poppy wreaths were laid at the War Memorial in Bridge Street in the city centre.

Although a full service was not possible due to COVID restrictions, a small gathering took place, including some veterans, and they were joined in the two minute silence by those working in the city.

Meanwhile pupils at schools across the city have been paying their own tributes.

Youngsters at Woodston Primary have been creating special Poppy pebbles, with more than 500 stones hand painted by the children. While two pupils at NeneGate , who attend Stamford Welland Combined Cadet Force, laid a wreath on behalf of the school at the Bridge Street War Memorial.

The pebbles were laid out on the school field this morning.
