Peterborough remembers Australian and New Zealand war sacrifices

The sacrifices of soldiers from the other side of the world were remembered in Peterborough.

A wreath was laid and a Royal British Legion Standard Bearer paid tribute to Australian and New Zealand armed forces on Saturday (ANZAC Day) at the graveside of Australian soldier Sgt Thomas Hunter in Broadway Cemetery, in Peterborough .

Sgt Hunter died at Peterborough Hospital during the First World War after being fatally wounded in France.

A larger service in usually held annually at his graveside on ANZAC Day, but it had been cancelled due to coronavirus.

ANZAC Day is one of the most important days of the year for Australians and New Zealanders, who remember armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.
