Peterborough parents and carers offered wellbeing packs to support them during coronavirus pandemic

The global crisis has placed a huge toll on families everywhere, and for those with young people who have special educational needs and disabilities it has been an extremely difficult time.

Family Voice Peterborough has heard and read countless stories about the strains being placed on adults and children alike, with many pupils refused entry into schools and having to remain at home for months on end.

So to help the ‘seldom heard’ parents and carers at this time the charity is producing wellbeing packs to keep them going. These will be put together in time for Carers Rights Day (November 26)

It is contacting local businesses to request items to put in the packs and asking around for help with printing/packing

FVP works to improve services in the lives of children and young people with disabilities or additional needs and it is looking for parents and carers to get in touch so it can provide them with a wellbeing pack.

The charity would like give out 100 as it is now 10 years old.

And despite its premises at the Goldhay Centre remaining closed at this time, it is continuing to operate vital services, including a number of workshops which it is encouraging parents and carers to sign up for.

FVP also wants to receive feedback on how the pandemic is affecting families.
