Peterborough offices to be converted into home as plans approved
Plans have been approved to convert offices into a three-bedroom home in Peterborough.
The building named Milton House is located on Milton Road, Peterborough, and is currently used by a chartered building surveyors.
Applicant, T5 Homes Ltd, had a previous planning application for the site refused due to inadequate parking provision, but it addressed the issue in fresh plans which were submitted to the city council in July.
The plans, which were approved on September 2, stated: "This application directly addresses the identified shortfall by retaining two off street parking spaces to meet current standards and introducing minor alterations to improve access and visibility.

“No other substantive changes have been made to the scheme. Accordingly, the proposal now satisfies all relevant policy requirements and the previous reason for refusal has been resolved.”
Milton House itself was once a shop until it was converted into offices in 1987.
T5 Homes Ltd now has permission to convert it into a three-bedroom home.
External alterations to the property will include bricking up the existing access on the corner between Milton Road and Fellowes Road, and only using the door which is accessed via Milton Road.
The proposal also includes the retention of the existing off street parking spaces and removal of the existing garage to create space for bin storage and secure cycle parking.
There were concerns that future occupiers of two of the bedrooms could be disrupted by a nearby street lamp.
However, a case officer report stated: "Whilst the location of the street lamp is not ideal for a residential use, it's proximity is not considered to be detrimental to the ability to achieve acceptable amenity levels within the habitable rooms affected."
The plans received no objections from residents or interested parties.
Ultimately, Peterborough City Council planners decided that the proposal was acceptable having been assessed in the light of all material considerations.
