Peterborough mum-of-one sees dream of creating her own hair dressing business come true

A Peterborough mum with a dream of setting up her own hair dressing salon has seen her hopes come true.

Mum-of-one Keeleigh Batey has just completed the expansion of her home-grown Girls House salon into its own dedicated premises in Glinton.

She said: “What started as a tiny home set up has quickly became so much more.

"With determination, long days, and an unwavering belief in what I was building, I created The Girls House private salon, a space where I grew not only professionally as a hairdresser, but personally as a woman and a mum.

"Through every challenge and every milestone, my little girl was there, popping in after school, bringing her mum a cuppa, and reminding me exactly why I started.

“Now, six years on, The Girls House Glinton marks the next exciting chapter.”

The salon is based in High Street and is operated by a team of four.

She said: “We are now officially open in Glinton and excited to welcome both new and existing clients into our new space.

"Bookings are now being taken, and we can’t wait to share this next chapter with the community that has supported us from the very beginning.”

Keeleigh said that the Girls House had been created when her daughter was just six months old.

She said: “She would sit by my side while I worked from a small set-up in my lounge, living my dream one client at a time.

“Those early days were filled with the buzz of hairdryers and baby giggles, as clients passed her around for cuddles while I worked.

She added: “The vision is simple but powerful: to build a small family of hairdressers who grow together, whose families intertwine, and who inspire and support one another every step of the way.

"It’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and showing the next generation that with passion and hard work, dreams really can grow from the smallest beginnings.

“What began as one mum with a dream and her baby by her side has grown into a community-driven salon in the heart of the village… and this is only the beginning.”
