Putting his neck on the line, a suited Mr Bristow entered the stage at Peterborough New Theatre to take on professional wrestler Joey Scott in an encounter which sadly finished a lot quicker than a typical Prime Minister’s Questions.

At this point Mr Bristow turned around to leave the ring, only to be smashed on the back by Joey and sent to the canvas. The MP was then helped out of the ring as the wrestler played up to the crowd.
But undeterred, the newly elected Conservative returned later on - without his jacket and tie - to intervene in a contest between Joey and Alan Lee Travis.
Alan was on the canvas when Mr Bristow entered the ring and tried to steal a chair from Joey, which turned out to be a big mistake as he was unable to prise it from his possession. At this point the wrestler tried to hit him with it, only for Mr Bristow to dodge the attack.

Mr Bristow had engaged in some good natured smack talk with Joey on Twitter before the event, and tweeting afterwards he posted: “Bit battered and bruised but what a great show at the @newtheatre - proud that professional wrestling is back in #Peterborough. Showed @hotshotjoeysco1 that I will stand up for our City. It’s a special place. Proud to help the British Champ @AlanLeeTravis Thanks to @LDNwrestling.”
LDN Wrestling, which ran the event, tweeted: “Last night @paulbristow79 MP for Peterborough was viciously attacked by LDN Capital Champion @hotshotjoeysco1 in the ring at the New Theatre Peterborough. Footage will@be forthcoming. As a result, after a quick meeting Joey Scott has been suspended effective immediately!”
