Having knitted since her children were born, Sheila has returned to the hobby since she retired.

Sheila normally knits toys for her grandchildren Anaya and Ezra which they are delighted with, but this time praise has come from her neighbours who regularly walk past to see the collection.

Sheila originally only wanted to make a doctor and nurse but found inspiration in Captain Moore. She said: “I found two different patterns and I thought I wonder if I could do Captain Thomas Moore so I edited the doctor pattern and did it!”

Now creating a second Captain Moore knitted doll, Sheila is considering sending him one as a present for his 100th birthday on Thursday.

Thinking of what to add next, Sheila has her sights on creating an ambulance worker, firefighter or rubbish collector to her collection. Having ordered some more material, she is waiting on her next delivery before she can create any more knitted key workers.
