Peterborough festival offering a taste of up and coming theatre

Find your new favourite piece of up and coming theatre at a four-day festival – perfect for drama, musical and new writing enthusiasts in Peterborough.

Landmark Loading Festival will take place from November 12-15 at the Key Theatre and features a diverse range of theatre based shows and experiences for just £20.

Wristband purchasers will have access to all festival activities over the four days, giving attendees the confidence to try something new or take a punt on shows they might love but wouldn’t normally choose to book.

The work showcased will also be at varying stages of development, ranging from cast readthroughs to complete pieces, allowing bookers to observe the development process that any polished show or performance goes through prior to opening a production.

Landmark’s Talent & Participation Manager George Barnett said: “We are so excited to be developing this brand new festival offer here in the city. Our team have been overwhelmed by the amount of talent we have locally so it gives us great pleasure to be able to offer these artists a platform to showcase their own work.”

Landmark Loading will feature five East of England based artists currently participating in Landmark’s Seed Commission programme, an artist development opportunity which nurtures local emerging talent and supports creatives to develop an original piece alongside the Landmark team.

One of Landmark’s Seed Commission artists, Emma Vieceli, said: “Being a part of Landmark Theatre's Seed Commission programme has given me a fantastic platform to showcase the next stage of my new musical [Unfolding] as part of the festival offer.

"Landmark’s support has given me a strong foundation for my project and I’ve recently been successful in achieving an Arts Council England DYCP grant, which makes a huge difference in helping me to bring Unfolding to life on a Peterborough stage and beyond.”
