At the time members were ‘devastated to have lost everything’ needed for their social events from the storage shed which was set alight. The entire contents of the shed were donated by members and friends of the club. BGL Group has donated £1872 to rebuild the shed and replace all of its lost contents which the bowls group are ‘delighted’ at.

Babara Perry, Publicity Officer said: “Our social events are so popular, it took two years to get everything together and when the fire happened it felt like two years of hard work had literally gone up in flames. BGL has been so generous and given us enough money to buy a fire-resistant shed and cover the cost of the lost items. We’re so grateful to their community team for making this possible.”

The bowls club hope its members will enjoy a great season and a number of social events when they are able to reunite again.
