Peterborough charity urging residents to put their best foot forward to raise vital funds this Christmas
Kidney Research UK has launched a Christmas fund raiser to encourage people to get fit, get out the house and raise money for vital research into kidney disease by walking or running 12,000 steps a day for 12 days.
Marc Shaw, head of community and events at Kidney Research UK, said: “This year has been hard for everyone, and we’re grateful for supporters for their fantastic commitment to helping us fight to end kidney disease.

“In these difficult times we also want to help people safely link up with friends and family to have some fun, so we have created a ready to use Christmas quiz, ideal for Zoom parties.
“Other ways to join in are to wear your festive pullover with pride and share your photos with us on social media on Christmas Jumper Day (Friday 11 December). Anyone, anywhere can join in. By lacing up your trainers, wearing your seasonal sweater or being the official Christmas quiz master and raising funds for Kidney Research UK, you’re helping end kidney disease.”
Three million people in the UK have kidney disease but only one million will be aware. Treatments can be gruelling and currently there is no cure.
