Peterborough celebrates our Health Heroes

Over the past few weeks, Peterborough’s health heroes have been working harder than ever before to ensure the city comes through the Coronavirus crisis.

Working in a variety of roles on the front line, they have put their own safety on the line to help others who need it. The Peterborough Telegraph asked for nominations of the city’s health heroes - and readers sent in pictures of those who they were incredibly proud of. Lauren Davies who

works in paediatric intensive care, was nominated by her mum Julie Davies. She says “I could not be more proud of my daughter. She is my hero.” Luca Palumbo nominated his girlfriend Emily Hazell (right of the picture of three), a staff nurse at Peterborough city hospital A&E. She’s an absolute hero along with all her colleagues. This is her pictured with fellow staff nurses Hannah Coultrop ( left) and Lexy Dodding (middle) all working at PCH A&E. Lydi-Marie Godley has nominated her mother Jeanette Godly who is a nurse. She said “my mother is my hero fighting on the front line. She is staying positive and hopeful.” Jeveria Raja, from Peterborough is a junior doctor, working in ITU in UCLH (University College London Hospital). Her mother, Shazia, said: “We are very proud of her for the hard work she is doing during this crucial time, we miss her and hope to see her very soon.” Faisal Mahmoon said: “Our local GP Shabina Asad

Quayyum, is doing a lot of voluntary work in the community, and helping keep everyone informed. Henna Atarid also nominated her saying “She’s a lovely

person inside and out. She’s keeping everyone informed regarding Covid19, definitely the hero for us.”
