Peterborough cancer wellbeing team receives £1,000 from housebuilders

The Cancer Wellbeing Service has been given a £1,000 donation from housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes.

The funding will support the work undertaken at the Cancer Wellbeing Service who offer emotional and physical wellbeing to those affected by cancer. Clients can benefit from bespoke advice and support in a homely and relaxed environment.

The cause was nominated by staff members at the developer’s Peterborough head office.

Lisa Deacon, Joint Cancer Wellbeing Service Manager, said: “We are extremely grateful for the generous support shown to us by the team at Barratt and David Wilson Homes. This donation will be used to purchase lounge seating for our drop in and support area, thank you to the staff who nominated us.”

The developer’s Community Fund scheme sees employees nominate a worthy charity or community group each month to receive up to £1,000.

Adam Knight, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Cambridgeshire, said: “As cancer is sadly something that affects many people and their loved ones in their lifetime, we’re so pleased to be giving our Community Fund donation to such a worthy cause.

“We really admire all of the fantastic work the staff at the cancer wellbeing service do, and hope this donation can help them to continue supporting patients.”
