The group of ex-forces veterans used to meet near the market car park and struggled to find a new meeting place while being low on funds.

Bryan Tyler, a member of the group who also represents the Supporting Peterborough Veterans group, said: “There’s normally about 25 of us who meet up and have a cup of coffee and a chat. All lovely people.

“I applied for help from the Phoenix café who have given us some help and the money will go towards paying the rent for all of us to meet. It costs around £25 a week now for the venue, so this will really help us over the coming weeks.”
