Peterborough actor's horror screen dream come true could be stuff of nightmares for viewers
A talented Peterborough actor has just secured his fantasy role in a Prime horror movie to be released this summer.
While The Snow Demon might be the stuff of nightmares for some viewers, for Jamiyka Jones (21) playing the killer wolf who stalks a remote forest is the stuff of dreams.
Jamiyka, who took to the stage at the age of five and has not looked back since, said: “I love the horror genre.
“The opportunity to be in independent horror film The Snow Demon was something I’d always dreamed about.

"It is pretty cool.”
The role has involved living for seven weeks on the Oxfordshire set with the other members of the cast.
The film, which involves a close-knit group of friends reuniting at an isolated wilderness cabin to pay their respects to a friend who mysteriously disappeared a year earlier, only to become the next targets of a relentless, mythic predator known as the Snow Demon, is due to be released on Prime in October or November this year.
Admittedly, playing a man-sized wolf does not require the need to memorise any dialogue.

But Jemiyka said: “It really is about the choreography.
“It is about learning to move in the right way.
“It wasn’t as easy as it sounds. It was hard to move around wearing the costume and I couldn’t always see.
“There were a few times when I ran straight into a tree - hopefully those moments will be cut in the final take."

Jamiyka, who went to Bishop Creighton Academy and Nene Park Academy, said: “Growing up in Peterborough, it has been an incredible journey getting to step into a high-stakes horror production like this.”
He says he discovered his love of acting, singing and dancing at the age of five when he took part in school productions.
His first real chance to learn acting skills was when he joined the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts.
His first acting job was in Matilda The Musical in London’s West End when he was chosen to play the role of Nigel and later stared as Tommy in the same production.

He has also secured brief walk-on roles in ITV’s hit soap EastEnders in 2016.
In addition, he has spent two years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts before returning to Peterborough to learn ‘scare acting’ in Horror at Hinchingbrooke House near March.
But for Jamiyka his ultimate dream is to more screen acting and become a regular action on EastEnders.
However, for the moment, he is next off to Germany for a modelling job advertise iphones for Apple.
He said: “It is a great opportunity. But it is mostly done on a green screen backdrop and we don’t actually get to handle the phones.
"They’re added in afterwards.”
