Overnight road closures to affect Peterborough drivers this July
While the much publicised road works around Queensgate roundabout and along the A47 will no doubt be uppermost in most drivers’ minds this summer, they are not the only issues motorists need to be aware of throughout July.
As the school summer holidays approach, planned works will see restrictions imposed on roads in both the city centre and the surrounding countryside.
Here are the full details:
Boongate

Newark Road between the Padholme Road roundabout and the Boongate roundabout will be closed eastbound this month to accommodate antenna installation works.
While closure dates will be confirmed locally on site, it is anticipated the works will take place from 8pm on Friday, July 10 to 6am on Saturday, July 11.
The recommended diversion for vehicles affected by this closure is: Boongate, Fengate and Padholme Road East.
Peakirk
Thorney Road in Peakirk is set to close 20 metres either side of Folly Bank Level Crossing for one night in July.
The railway level crossing maintenance works will see motorists denied access from Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 12, although specific closure times and dates will be confirmed locally on site.
Drivers are encouraged to make use of the following alternative route: Thorney Road (B1443), Werrington Bridge Road, Glinton Bypass, Lincoln Road (B1443), High Street, Peakirk Road, and St Pegas Road (and vice versa).
