Peterborough residents were given a stunning – if slightly unexpected – aerial display last night as the Northern Lights were visible above the city.
The Aurora is not normally visible as far south as Peterborough – but the sky was filled with bright greens, purples and pinks.
The strength of the lights is impacted by solar activity – and luckily, there was a clear sky, giving people a perfect view.
A number of Peterborough Telegraph readers have been in touch sharing their amazing pictures of the show from last night.
