Nominate town's top citizen

Nominations are now open for the Whittlesey Citizenship Award and Whittlesey Young Citizen of the Year.

Nominations can be for any person who has helped in the community, undertaken charity work, achieved outstanding results in any discipline, or who has done anything else which is above and beyond the call of duty.

To be eligible, you must live in Whittlesey, Coates, Eastrea, Turves or Pondersbridge. The young citizen must be 18 years old or below.

To put someone forward for an award, give details of their name, address and reason for nomination and send to: Susan Piergianni, Clerk & RFO to the Council, Whittlesey Town Council, Grosvenor House, Grosvenor Road, Whittlesey, PE7 1AQ.

The envelope should be marked either Whittlesey Young Citizen Committee or Whittlesey Citizenship Award.

The closing date for nominations is Tuesday, February 28.

The awards committee said: “Please remember, if you don’t nominate them they cannot be recognised for what they do.”
