Night of frustration for England as scores of fans gather at Charters in Peterborough

It was a night of frustration for England fans as they struggled to break down Ghana in the World Cup.

A hard fought 0-0 draw was not what most supporters were expecting when they arrived at the fan zone at Charters by the River Nene in Peterborough on Tuesday night (June 24).

The beer garden was packed with people sporting England shirts, waving flags – and joining in with classic pre-match anthems ahead of kick off.

An estimated 2,000 people were in attendance – but there was not much to cheer through the match.

The Peterborough Telegraph was on hand to get images from the night.

England’s next match will be on Saturday evening.
