New slots gaming centre to open in Peterborough creating 14 jobs
A new gaming centre is to open in Peterborough creating up to 14 jobs.
Entertainment centre operator Praesepe will open its new Merkur Slots venue in Lincoln Road, Millfield, on Monday (September 7).
Managers say nine to 14 staff on a full and part-time basis will be employed at the slots gaming venue.
They also say an array of Covid-19 hygiene and safety measures are in place at the new centre.
Safety measures inside the venue include Perspex screens, full machine cleans between customers, sanitise stations, masks and social distancing measures.
Mark Schertle, chief operating officer at Milton Keynes-based Praesepe, part of the Germany-based Gauselmann group, said: “This is a very exciting time for the Merkur Slots brand.
“So many companies haven’t survived the effects of the pandemic and we are delighted to be able to give customers a brand-new experience in locations where we don’t currently have a presence, such as Millfield.
“It means a lot to us to be part of kick-starting the high street again and supporting the local community with new job opportunities.”
Merkur Slots is a new brand for the entertainment giant, which says its new venue will offer fully digitised machines and advertising.
Mr Schertle said: “We operate an ‘open, clean, safe’ campaign which will focus heavily on ensuring new safety precautions are in-place and everything is communicated effectively with customers, via social channels and the official website.
“The senior management team will continue to heed official government advice and will regularly monitor, and adjust the plan, over the coming weeks and months.”
