New retailer hopes to touch base with customers as he opens US sportswear shop near Peterborough
A retailer with a sporting difference is set to throw open the doors to a new store based in Market Deeping.
Enterprising Mark White is opening the Gear and Glory at 3 Halfleet on Saturday, February 21.
The shop will specialise as an independent US sports apparel retailer bringing NFL, NBA and NHL jerseys, authentic vintage pieces, and premium sportswear to the high street.
It is hoped the new look shop will create a buzz in Market Deeping which has recently endured the loss of a number of retailers
Mr White said: “This isn’t just another shop opening.
He said: “Every item we stock is 100 per cent authentic, there are no replicas, no fakes, and we’re aiming to build a proper community hub for the growing UK fanbase of American sports.
He added: "There are currently no specialist retail stores in the immediate area offering this type of product.
“Local families often travel further afield to find these items, Gear&Glory keeps that experience — and that spend — in the town.
Mr White added: “Market Deeping has lost a number of retail spaces in recent years, and with fewer places for families and young people to visit locally.
"I wanted to create something different — somewhere fans can come in, try items on, talk sport, and experience something you simply can’t get online.”
