New £600,000 workspace and leisure hub for historic Peterborough trackside building
A new £600,000 venture combining workspace and fun is to open in an historic part of Peterborough next month.
The Old Station Quarter in Viersen Platz, Bourges Boulevard, will start up in Unex House, which sits alongside the East Coast Main Line, in April.
It is the idea of a group of six local entrepreneurs and will initially have 40 employees.
It will be home to three existing businesses, tattoo workshop Electric Workshop, currently in Westgate, boxing club Gentlemen and Rogues of Yaxley and a Been Around Coffee outlet.

It will also include a large area of independent working space as well as a bar.
Laura Green, one of the directors for the new venture, said: “We are looking to bring something new and nice to the city.
"It will occupy 8,000 square feet on the ground floor.
"The intention is for the Old Station Quarter to be a social and working space. It will host independent working areas and social activities and events.
"There will be a partial opening in April followed by a full opening in May.
She added: “Unex House is in a prime location of the city and close to the Station Quarter development.”
The lease of the trackside converted former industrial warehouse has been overseen by Peterborough-based commercial agents BTG Eddisons jointly with Savills.
A spokesperson said: “The latest letting on the ground floor sees its new tenants taking 8,500 sq ft of space within the building which, itself, is converted from the former railway engine sheds, dating back to the 19th century, with many features of the original building retained and exposed.
"Although becoming an established and prominent office location, we believe Unex House retains a freshness of appeal to a range of modern office occupiers from the more conventional professional and financial services or creative industries or the newly emerging technologies.”
Julian Welch, director of BTG Eddisons, added: “Unex House is a key building in the Old Station Quarter.
"It has been something of a trailblazer in setting the tone for the upgrade of the surrounding Embankment area and the forthcoming Station Quarter £65 million regeneration project which got central government backing last autumn.”
