New dog grooming service WaggyMamas seeks to take the lead in Peterborough
A new dog grooming service has opened in Peterborough and is seeking to give the city’s pets a fresh new look.
WaggyMamas has opened in Shrub Road, Hampton Vale, and owner Charlene Langridge says it will offer a service that is designed around the needs of each individual dog.
She said: “We bring a fresh, professional approach to dog grooming that places quality, care and animal welfare firmly at the heart of everything we do.”
Charlene said she decided to create WaggyMamas in a bid to find a satisfying career.
She said: “WaggyMamas came from a complete change of career and a desire to do something more fulfilling.
"I’ve always had a real passion for dogs, and after retraining professionally in grooming, I wanted to create a calm, one-to-one service that truly focuses on each dog’s individual needs.
She said: “Living locally, it became clear there was a gap in the market in Hampton for a more personalised, welfare-led approach, where dogs aren’t rushed or overwhelmed in a busy salon environment.
"The name WaggyMamas reflects the caring, nurturing side of the business — it’s about treating every dog as if they were my own and making sure they feel safe, comfortable and well looked after throughout their visit.”
Charlene says that each appointment is carried out on a one-to-one basis that ensures there is no overlap, no busy salon environment and no unnecessary stress for pets.
She said: “This calm, controlled setting allows time to properly understand each dog’s coat type, behaviour and temperament, resulting in a more consistent, tailored and considered finish.
“It creates a gentler grooming experience that benefits both dogs and their owners, particularly those who may feel anxious in traditional salon environments.
"Natural products are used wherever possible to help maintain healthy coats and skin, while avoiding harsh treatments.
“This is especially important for dogs that require regular grooming or have more sensitive skin and coat types.
“From puppy introductions through to full grooms and maintenance trims, every appointment is handled with patience, care and attention to detail.
