New call to celebrate the best in business at the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards 2021
Go-ahead businesses are being urged to take part in the Peterborough Telegraph’s annual celebration of excellence in enterprise.
The 25th Peterborough Telegraph Business Excellence Awards have been launched with the deadline for entries set for August 31.
It is a chance for businesses to showcase their achievements, innovation and, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, their readiness to think on their feet, not only for their own survival but for the benefit of the wider community.
In this light, it is only fitting that among the 14 categories is a special title to celebrate the business that has made the best response to the crisis.
In addition, there is a new category to highlight the success of start-up businesses with two years’ trading under their belts and another for retailer of the year either in a bricks and mortar store or online.
And this year, it is easier than every to enter the awards.

And there are plenty of reasons to take part as the boss of medical devices company Coloplast – a triple award winner at the 2019 awards– explains.
Coloplast general manager Annemarie van Neck, who won Business Person of the Year while her company won Employer of the Year and the Customer Service awards, said: “It was truly an honour for us to have been recognised for our excellence at the Peterborough Telegraph Business Awards in 2019.
“The awards demonstrate how the city itself is proud for us to be here and for the wealth that we have created locally by way of employment prospects and the provision of services.
“We are in turn very pleased to be associated with the Peterborough Business Awards. I would urged all local businesses to participate as your success is testimony that the city is doing well and a place that other companies should invest in.”
She added: “Now that the lockdown restrictions are slowly being eased, we are looking forward to resuming our activities with the NHS, its staff and patients.”
Once the deadline for entries has closed, our awards judging panel will begin its work ahead of the presentation ceremony and dinner on Novenber 19 – an event that will be ‘live’ and which will also be streamed online.
Chris Collier, judges’ chairman, said: “The judges are delighted that the PT Business Awards will be held in 2021.
“It gives Peterborough an opportunity of showing how many excellent businesses are based in the area.
“The winners are able to promote their business in advertising and marketing material, and even being short listed has a positive effect on the morale of employees of the company.
“For 2021 there are some additional categories which we believe will encourage entries from more businesses than previous years.
“We are all looking forward to an exciting awards evening in November.”
The Peterborough Telegraph is delighted to welcome accountancy and business advisory firm Azets as the headline sponsor.
Mark Jackson, partner at Azets, said: “We are proud to be the headline sponsors for the 2021 Peterborough Telegraph Business Excellence Awards. It is important to celebrate the achievements of an array of different businesses within our region.
