New baby goods store set to open in Peterborough

Final preparations are being made at Mybaby on 2 Parade Lawson Avenue, Stanground for the shop to open later this month.

The unit will stock a host of items for new parents such as bonnets, teethers, rattles, changing bags and strollers from a range of top brands such as Icklebubba and iCandy.

The new family run business has been started by Natalie and Alex Harper, who live in Eye with their one-year old daughter Freya, to once again give parents in the city a place to go to try out new products before they buy them.

Natalie said: “We think this really fits what Peterborough needs, since losing Kiddicare, Mothercare and John Lewis there is nowhere to go and try out these items.

“For these kinds of things, it can be a lot to pay out without seeing it in person, which is what you have to do online, and I think there are certain things you need to have look at properly and find out how big it is, how it folds down etc and there is nowhere in Peterborough to do that at the moment.

“We’re all getting stuck in at the right now to get the final preparations in to get our name out there and to build the website to go along with the shop.”

People will be able to walk into the shop at any time but Mybaby are also offering a system in which people can call ahead on 01733222818 and arrange individual appointments.

To go with the opening, they are also giving away a three night break at Parkdean Resorts in Hunstanton during the summer holidays (July 23-26).

The prize is to be given away to a deserving member of the community, be it a parent/wife/husband/friend etc who has helped their community throughout this tough year or deserves a good break.
