The tortoiseshell cat, named Muffin, became stuck earlier this week in Orton Goldhay.

But thanks to the RSPCA and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue, the beloved pet was able to be brought back to safety yesterday.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew from Stanground was called to assist an RSPCA officer at around 11.15am on Tuesday. A cat was stuck on a roof on Braybrook in Orton Goldhay. Using a ladder the cat was retrieved and returned to its owner unharmed.

“The crew returned to their station by midday.”
