Memories of Peterborough United’s last promotion party - a decade on

Peterborough United secured promotion back to the second tier of English football with a draw against Lincoln City on Saturday - meaning a celebration for Posh fans across the city.

The last promotion party was held 10 years ago, with an open top bus parade through the city centre.

Plans for a similar celebration this year are likely to be scuppered by COVID - but the current squad - again led by manager Darren Ferguson - will go down in the history books with the 2010-11 team.

The 2010-11 squad included Posh legends, including George Boyd and Craig Mackail-Smith, and thousands packed into the city to see their heroes holding the League One Playoff trophy after earning promotion in the final at Old Trafford, beating Huddersfield Town 3-0.
