It was not just eyes that looked up though – people reached for their phones and cameras to capture the moment the historic war-time bomber soared over the city.
The flypast was part of the festivities for the Botolph Green Festival that took place on Saturday.
The Peterborough Telegraph asked readers to send in their pictures of the Lancaster flying over – and we were not disappointed!
Thank you to everyone who sent their pictures in.
