Intrepid couple to 'step outside comfort zone' with100 miles non-stop run to help Peterborough's Anna's Hope charity
An intrepid couple are poised to embark on a 100 mile non-stop run to raise much-needed cash for Peterborough’s Anna’s Hope charity.
Adventurers Darren Grigas and Sarah King are planning to run across the rugged Trossachs in Scotland next month and are urging local people to support their campaign.
The couple will run from Glamis Castle to Stirling Castle starting on May 19.
Darren, co-founder of the award-winning Forest Facility Adventure Centre, in Stamford, said ‘This will be an inspiring journey for Sarah and I that unites the endurance of adventure with the spirit of community, shining a spotlight on local resilience.

He said: “Our goal is to raise crucial funds for Anna’s Hope, which supports children battling brain tumours, helping them survive and thrive, through specialist support.”
The couple have set up a Justgiving page for people who wish to support the challenge.
Darren and Sarah state: “For both of us, 100 miles in one go is unknown territory with only a 30 mile run being our biggest run in preparation for this feat, and that's when things started getting tough, so another 70 in that pain zone could be brutal physically and mentally.
“There’s no guarantee we’ll finish.
"But that’s the point.
“At Forest Facility Adventure Centre, we’re all about pushing limits and stepping outside comfort zones.
"We encourage people every day to take on challenges they didn’t think possible.
“Now it’s our turn to practise what we preach. We’re doing this for Anna’s Hope — a small, local, volunteer-led charity supporting children and families affected by brain tumours.
“They face battles far tougher than anything we’ll experience.
“So when it gets hard — and it will — we’ll keep going.
“Through the night. Through the pain. Through every mile. For them.
“When it hurts, we can choose to stop. These children can’t. Please help us keep going.”
Carole Hughes, co-founder of Anna’s Hope said: “This year is Anna’s Hope’s 20th Anniversary and on behalf of the children we support, I wish Darren and Sarah all the best in this amazing fundraising challenge and thank you for the funds you have raised over the years for Anna’s Hope.”
