There were wild celebrations as Posh fans cheered a last minute goal that clinched a dramatic promotion to the Championship for Peterborough United.

Posh had slipped to 0-3 down to promotion rivals Lincoln City at the Weston Homes Stadium with the point needed to go up looking all but impossible this afternoon (May 1).

Jonson Clarke-Harris struck his most important goal of all to earn Peterborough promotion after a stunning comeback to earn a 3-3 draw against Lincoln.

Posh slumped to a three-goal deficit before roaring back to book their place in the Championship and seal a fourth rise under boss Darren Ferguson as Clarke-Harris tucked away a last-gasp spot-kick.

It sparked wild scenes outside the stadium where hundreds of fans had gathered.

And when the players went out to celebrate with the waiting supporters the fans’ joy was complete.
