These new images give a glimpse inside the new Laser Quest Peterborough which officially opens in Brook Street tomorrow (April 18) with the operators promising to continue the venue’s legacy as a go-to destination for laser tag.
It follows the closure last month of Laserforce after 25 years of thrilling enthusiasts.
Now operators are promising a ‘new chapter in family entertainment’ as the long-established Laserforce venue transitions to become Laser Quest Peterborough.
A spokesperson said: “The site will continue its legacy as a go-to destination for laser tag, while introducing a refreshed experience under the Laser Quest brand.
"Laserforce Peterborough has been part of the local community for over 20 years, building a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for group entertainment.
“The new operators have emphasised that the goal is to build on this foundation, retaining what customers loved while enhancing the overall experience.”
‘Updated laser tag equipment, improved facilities’
As part of the transition, the venue will feature updated laser tag equipment, improved facilities and additional attractions designed to broaden its appeal.
These include a motion-based virtual reality (VR) ride and an immersive 5D cinema experience, combining visual effects, movement and sensory elements to offer visitors something beyond traditional gameplay.
Laser Quest is one of the most recognised laser tag brands, with venues across the country catering to families, birthday parties, youth groups and corporate events.
The Peterborough location will follow this model, offering a range of booking options suitable for both casual visits and organised group experiences.
The Laser Quest spokesperson said: "We’re really excited to be bringing Laser Quest to Peterborough.
"The venue already has a fantastic reputation locally, and our aim is to build on that by enhancing the overall experience while keeping it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
"We’re looking forward to welcoming both returning customers and new visitors from April 18."
Alistair Dawson, managing director of Laser Quest GB said: “The previous venue had been a renowned part of Peterborough for decades and Laser Quest is extremely pleased to be able to help to keep it a part of the city’s leisure offering.
“The new site is also an opportunity to invest in the venue and bring in new activities for guests to enjoy. VR especially will bring a new dimension to the site and secure the site as a hub for the community for years to come”.
Laser Quest opened its doors 1989 in the heart of Manchester city centre quickly gaining traction in the UK.
Since then it has been a staple of the leisure industry in the UK with more than 70 sites operating in the UK alone.
Previous Laser Force owner Martin Nash had looked to sell the business to new operators, but they were unable to agree a new lease and doors were set to close on March 1 this year.
The opening of Laser Quest comes just ahead of the Easter holidays, with high demand anticipated from families and groups.
As part of the launch, Laser Quest Peterborough is offering a limited-time 10 per cent discount on all bookings, redeemable online using the code OPEN10.
Bookings are open at Laser Quest here.
