Images reveal progress of jobs-creating Lidl-led commercial hub under construction in Peterborough

The roof structure on the store, which is being built at The Boulevard in Hampton, is now firmly in pace and a number of panels are already in place.

The steel frameworks for two of three employment units are now complete with construction on the final unit just getting under way.

Several hundred people are expected to be employed at the new hub once building work on the 8.2 acre site is completed.by Peveril Securities and Sladen Estates.

Sophie May, associate director of development at Sladen Estates, said: "The Boulevard continues to gain momentum, with this stage of construction marking a key milestone as the scheme emerges from the ground and visible progress is made on site.

"With units due for occupation in the second quarter of this year, the development will deliver high-quality, flexible employment space.

"Each unit will include fully fitted first-floor offices with comfort cooling, double-height reception areas, strong amenity provision, secure service yards and level loading access.”

The employment units will offer flexible space options ranging from 27,150 sq ft to 64,300 sq ft and will be available for sale or to let.

Sophie said: “Strong enquiry levels are already being seen from both growing local businesses and national operators, with discussions ongoing ahead of completion."

She said the development was within an hour’s drive of 2.93 million residents, which made The Boulevard highly attractive for companies seeking profile, connectivity and growth potential.

Eddisons and M1 Agency have been appointed as agents for the scheme.
