More than 300 runners, walkers and supporters took part in the colourful 3K and 5K routes, raising over £10,000 to support people living with combined sight and hearing loss.
The family-friendly event brought together people of all ages and abilities for a day filled with colour, community spirit and fun. As participants made their way around the course they charged through bursting clouds of bright powder paint, crossing the finish line covered in every colour of the rainbow.
The atmosphere throughout the day was vibrant and inclusive, with families, friends, local businesses, community groups and Deafblind UK supporters doing their part to raise vital funds for the charity's work. Children and adults alike embraced the colourful challenge, creating unforgettable memories while supporting an important cause.
Accessibility remained at the heart of the event, with British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters, lipspeakers and trained guides available throughout the day to help ensure everyone could participate and enjoy the experience. The event welcomed people of all abilities, including those living with sight and hearing loss, making it a true celebration of inclusion and connection.
Robert Grew, Fundraising Development Manager at Deafblind UK, said: “The Rainbow Run is a real community celebration, and it was amazing to see so many young families, friendship groups and older people having fun getting covered in colour for a good cause. Our incredible volunteers kept the energy high and the event safe and accessible for all. There was excitement, dancing, and laughter from start to finish and we even enjoyed a real rainbow in the skies above!
“A big thank you to everyone who took part, as well as our local charity partners and event sponsors. Your support allows Deafblind UK to continue providing vital care services, connections and opportunities for people with sight and hearing loss across the UK."
