Homeless charity in Peterborough appeals for 'bags for life' to help service users

Light Project Peterborough is appealing for donations of carrier bags to help them to support homeless people across the city.

The charity has called for supplies to be dropped off at their hub, the Garden House, in Gravel Walk.

"We are running low on carrier bags and bags for life,” a spokesperson said, taking to social media.

“They are given out to guests who need something to carry things in when they leave the Garden House. If you can help us, please bring items to the Garden House.”

Last month the charity reported that 45 new people presented as homeless at the Garden House.

The spokesperson adds: “Since April, there have been 328 new presentations – which equates to over one new person every day.”
