Green light for huge new warehouse that could create 100 jobs in Peterborough
Plans to build a jobs-creating warehouse on the edge of Peterborough have been given the green light.
Approval has been granted by Peterborough City Council for detailed plans to build a 352,033 square feet warehouse off Oxney Road and adjacent to the 127 acre Flagship Park, at Edgerley Drain Road, Fengate.
The plans have been drawn up jointly by developers Hillwood and land owners the Church Commissioners.
The development is expected to create 100 when completed.

A Hillwood spokesperson said that site preparation works were under way and the warehouse would be available either for lease or for sale.
The huge warehouse is expected to feature 301 car parking spaces plus 38 dock level doors as well as four surface level doors.
The number of jobs to be created will depend on the company that eventually occupies the warehouse but is expected to be 100 plus.
The scheme is part of Flagship Park, which is the largest remaining commercial development site in Peterborough and the surrounding area.
The Flagship Park development was given the go ahead by the council earlier this year two years ago and will offer 11 warehouses with the largest unit providing 367,565 square feet of warehousing, a three storey office block plus parking for 134 heavy goods vehicles and a 133 space car park.
A spokesperson for the Church Commissioners said: "In line with our original vision for the site, the new sustainable industrial park will create significant job opportunities and economic growth for the city, enabled by the delivery of units that support occupiers of all sizes.”
